outside/external air temp on Climate Control
I have a '99 Convertible - the outside air temp is giving me some fits ... one drive its working fine then the temp drops like 20 degrees then of course minutes later it shoots back up to the correct temp. It seems like an intermittent contact but everything seems ok (as far as the wiring). Anyone have any ideas how to proceed? I'd like to test the thermocouple to eliminate that as the culprit - anyone know the spec's on it?

I haven't seen this problem with my vette but it does happen on my daily driver after a rainfall or carwash. It seems the sensor needs to dry out.

according to the manual, it should vary from 242700ohms at -40F to 2488ohms at 140F. Also, the system will display 56F if the system shorts out.

It is some what common for the sensor and connector to get water in them causing a corroded connection,resulting in the replacement of both :yesnod: Check it out...
