Batter Install....now a nightmare......
Well, installed the new optima red.....it doesn't fit....too small.....tried both adapters......too big......tried one adapter......too small.....call Optima...Pep boys sold me the wrong battery.....5 minute job is now 2.5 hours...the correct part is 3478 just in case you buy at Pep boys. This is why I bought a DieHard when I was replacing my battery. The Optima website nor their catalog listed a battery for a C5.
Plus they had those ugly unused bare posts on the top of the battery. :U

I went to Discount Auto Parts and was talked into a BUYING a new Battery because:
"they arent warranted by GM". I was surprised :confused: Anyhow, the dealership was closed(Sat 8pm) and I was kinda stranded so I bought a new one for $74.00. Monday after discussing my experience with coworkers they were positive it is covered by warranty.I called GM customer service, explained what happened and they called my Dealer and the next day I received full reimbursement for my new battery. GM customer service rocked that day :cheers:

Decided to return the Optima, got a battery at Wal-Mart with a 9 year warranty, made for the Vette, at half the price of the Optima.
