I prefer the Z compound on the streets. The other PFC 99/01 Race compounds are too noisy and don't stop as well cold.
I'm VERY impressed with the Z's and I've tried a lot of pads. Prob 25% more dust than stock, but less than Hawk Streets. I'm amazed at how much more contact patch the pad seems to get on the rotor. Smooth even wear across the ENTIRE exposed rotor surface. My other pads never did that.
Going from 17" front to 18" front may have lessened my dusting. Still waiting to be sure. Too much damn rain lately.
The smell normal too. LOL. Nice bite. Never have had anything but better than stock braking. No complaints. I'm very critical of pads also.
I have the z's also. I just went to the track with them and like them. When they are cold it takes a little longer to stop with them on the street until they heat up. They worked out well at the track. only time they faded at the track was when I broke real late in a corner, my fault. As far as dusting goes, they seem to be about the same at the race track as the stock pads.
