Default Park Brake Shoe Replacement Question

Is it possible or has anyone replaced the park brake shoe without removing the wheel bearing /hub unit? Looks like you might be able to get to the shoe retaining spring clip in points between the brake shoe and the wheel hub. I will thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Yes you can replace it with out removing the hub. Take the rotor off, push the shoe as far up as it can go, use one hand to pry the shoe towards you, use the other hand to push the retainer away from the shoe, once the shoe clears the retainer you can swing it over the hub and a complete 180 from where it was, then you can slide it out from the adjuster. When you install the new shoe make sure the retainer clip is properly installed, sometimes I bend the tabs that hold the retainer in to secure it better. Twist the adjuster all the way in. Install your rotor and through the hole in the hat of the rotor you can adjust the shoe so it just starts to drag. If there is no hole in the hat of the rotor then keep popping the rotor off and adjust the shoe outwards until there is slight friction on the shoe.

I didn't replace my shoes, but when I did the rear rotors I put them on without checking the shoe adjustment and had to pull it all back apart when the parking brake wouldn't hold the car on an incline. Point is adjust the shoes out where you have decent friction on the rotor when installing it. I put mine where it took a little effort to slide the rotor over the shoes and now the parking brake works like it should.
