Need some headlight help....
So after rebuilding my headlight motors with the brass gears, Im having the problem where 1 or both lights wont raise when I turn them on. They illuminate in the down position. If I open the hood and crank the manual dial one turn, and then activated the switch, they pop right up. It almost seems like when they lower, the motor continues to turn one or two times too much and puts so much torque on the teeth on the gear that it cant overcome it when it goes to open.
Any advice? Will increasing the thickness of the rubber bumper on the down-stop cause the motor to stop turning a second earlier and prevent it from binding up on the gear?

I'm having the same problem with my driver side headlight, the passenger one works fine... it is extremely annoying but I don't drive the car much so it isn't a big priority... I think you're looking in the right place by adding something to the bumpers to keep them from closing too far, this is what I'm going to try once I get around to it... I have had more problems with these stupid headlights than anything else on the car
