not on mine !!!

When I ordered my 2002, the dual climate control heads were already failing. So, I ordered mine with the base trim package; and back then the 1SA had the manual rotary HVAC controls.

Though, I repaired a friends C5 with dual climate control - for the dimming problem.

I lucked out. I was doing mine on a saturday and the vette tech at the dealership across the street didn't have anything better to do, so he fixed it up under the table for a few bucks. Make sure you have a 4mm socket. I was taking those tiny hex screws off with needle nose pliers. lol

Not all have that problem. It's just those that have the problem that you hear from. Those that don't like mine probably aren't going to start new threads like "12 years and 120K and for some reason my dual zone climate control display is still working great!"
That's one thing about forums, it's the occasional problems that get all the attention, obviously because we come here when we need help more than when we don't. After browsing a forum, people start getting the idea that all Corvettes, Mustangs,_____'s (fill in the blank) have this particular problem when it's really more likely just a small percentage.

Not only that, but faaar too many people also just assume that "all" C5s are equipped the same as "their" C5 and "therefore" if they have a problem, "all" C5s have the same problem.

Case in point: Not all C5s have CJ2 HVAC systems (also known as "Dual Mode"). Many, have the C60 HVAC that HAS no "display" to go dark or dim.
