Default PCV system question

I have a catch can installed and wondering if there's a reason I can't install a "T" in one of those lines for the catch can and then connect the passenger side valve cover to the "T"?

Thanks

My 99 has the hose that runs from the drivers side valve cover behind the intake to the passengers side, then both go through the PCV valve and into the intake. If you try to rig it up that way so that the direction of vacuum stays the same, you should be fine.

I think theres some confusion as to how the PCV system works....

The line running from the passenger side valve cover to the intake is simply and inlet for fresh air to promote circulation/air flow through the crank case. (If you dont believe me, fire up your motor, and disconnect the rubber tube from the passenger side valve cover and stick your finger on the end and have someone rev the engine, little to no "vacuum")

The line from the valley cover to the intake is where the air/pressure is vented and thus the oil into your intake.

There are a few different way to incorporate a catch can into the system....I chose to use a breather cap on the passenger side valve cover to allow fresh air into the crank case (no significant oil seepage after a year of daily driving and a few track events) and a catch can that has a breather cap on it with no line to the intake. This way the entire system is vented to the atmosphere. I found that even with the catch can, with the crank case line going back to the intake, I was still getting oily residue in my intake, despite the oil accumulation in the catch can.

Short story long, yes you could incorporate a "T" into the line, but theres no real reason to.

Thanks for the link. Lots of info and some conflicting info as well. But, after reading most of the thread it appears I should not connect the Passenger valve cover to the catch can. I'll have to find another option.
