I have an 02 convert M6 car with 50K miles. It has picked up something that feels like the rear wheel or wheels are shifting when slowing down in gear,I have the car on a lift and can't find any bad bushings or loose components. The car feels like it's jumping to the left. Is there something I'm missing here??? It's too scary to drive it.Thanks for reading my post.
That is a very tough problem to try to diagnose with out actually seeing / driving the car. My first thought is something is loose. Do a complete nut and bolt check on rear suspension, cradle mounts and diff mount. Next check for worn A Arm bushings and ball joints. One bad shock with the other OK could cause some movement on deceleration. Check sway bar bushings for damage and then check for proper movement, one side could be binding. Finally take a close look at the frame mounting brackets for the A Arms - recently read a thread about the welds breaking on one side. Good Luck ! Let us know what you find.
Rust builds up on the splines.. its a very common problem... that "FIX", I sent you was in response to the hundreds of other members who have had this very problem... It " IS" your problem...

I did it but to no avail, the axles slid in and out freely but I lubed em anyways.however in my disgust I beat on it a little bit in the road test and realize now that it shifts to the right on acceleration as well as to the left on engine braking,I'm about ready to try to break it on purpose just so I can find out what it is There doesn't appear to be anything moving underneath visible to the eye. I'm gonna have someone else drive it and watch from behind to maybe get some insight. It feels like a leaf spring car with a broken eye bolt would.ANY ideas would be appreciated.
