I will be glad to look it up in my 2001 FSM, should not be different from year to year. However, what type of HVAC controller do you have (dual, etc.). Once I know what you have I can scan the info and post. I am very curious about what would cause this. Exactly what light(s) are on (LCD and or others)?
PS: Could be a weird BCM issue, might want to disconnect/reconnect the battery and then see if that fixes it. Make sure you wait at least 30 to 60 seconds before reconnection.
I have the Automatic Dual controller. I'd appreciate it if you could post the diagram!
Backstory: I replaced my burnt out bulbs with LEDs with appropriate resistors a few months ago. Recently One of them shorted and caused a burnt trace on the board. I repaired the traces and short, but with the key removed, the lights would stay on (not the lcd). In another post someone mentioned replacing a voltage regulator fixed a similar problem caused by a short so I tried that to no avail. Having the pinout will help me troubleshoot the unit and verify if there is a power backfeed, or if it is indeed the BCM. I'll try resetting the battery when I get home though.
OK, here we go. Remember these are from my 2001 FSM but "should" be the same for most or all years. The first 3 are from the HVAC section, with the last 2 from the General Electrical section. It seems the are 4 pins that have voltage. C5, C10, C12, and C16 (which I think is the one that is remaining powered). I have not looked upstream to see if there might be a relay that has failed to cause power to be on. Let me know if you have any questions, or if I can do further research to help. I am curious to find out what it is, just hope it is not the BCM.
It goes to a 10 Amp fuse #18 (HVAC) in the interior fuse box (passenger side). That fuse in turn is fed from the engine compartment fuse box. Let me know if you need more info.
PS: If you notice, that fuse powers everything in the lower right side of the schematic which is all HVAC related

Reason: Add PS:
No, the orange wire is providing power from the engine fuse box to fuse 18 in the passenger compartment.
Please clarify your second sentense with regard to what is or is not getting power. If fuse 18 was bad, how did you know? (just trying to get an idea of your electrical knowledge so I can best help)
Also, what year do you have? I assume you are working on a different car and issue from the original person who posted this thread.
My 1999 C5 climate control head is completely non-responsive. I removed control head and sent it out to be refurbished. After reinstalling it I now have only illumination behind the temp control *****. Nothing else is illuminated nor do any of the controls respond. As suggested by a previous post in the forum I checked connector pins C5, C10, C12 and C16. All have 12 volts coming to them.
i checked every fuse in both fuse boxes, all are good. Aside from the control head still being defective can anyone suggest a cure?
I'm trying to troubleshoot an "always on" light problem with my HVAC control. Does anyone have the connector pinout for this unit? Thanks!
As soon as I read this I was going to ask if you tried replacing bulbs and shorted something. I have seen this before and in those cases it fried a board in the climate control head unit.

Yea I replied the pin connector to the back of the AC head unit but yea still can’t communicate with it on a scanner tool but look at it and did not see anything fried on it was wondering if it might be the PCM but I have got it to work by moving the head unit around and the AC compressor came on with out touching the button so don’t know what else ideas?

On one I looked at I couldn't see it but it damaged something in a board. I send everything to Travis Wolfe at Vetteronics/Wolfe Restorations. He uses the correct resistance bulbs and can tell you what got damaged. I had a damaged board several years ago and he sole me one for a very reasonable price. I have recommended him to several forum members who have all been happy. You can find him on facebook.
