Broken recliner handle
Well, I just found out that part #12529209 which is supposed to be the actuator cable that I need to replace my broken plastic part that my recliner handle was attached to for my 04 is no longer available from GM. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jay

I have twice broken the plastic splined shaft on the actuator cable by putting my weight on the recliner handle getting in and out. Both times I have bought the cable from GMPARTSHOUSE. I have one waiting to be installed that I bought about six months ago. Try calling Gene or e-mailing him at gmpartshouse.

The splined shaft that the handle fits on is broken in half. I had removed the c-clip but the handle wouldn't come off. I was prying with a screwdriver, using penetrating oil and everything else I could think of. I thought the shaft was steel instead of plastic. It finally came off alright. Not the outcome I had hoped for though. It turns out someone had glued it on the shaft. Sent an email to GM parts house.
