I've got some questions. I have a fully loaded '01 LS1.
I'm removing the cast manifolds and replacing with FLP headers, and exchanging the four cats for two FLP high flows. I'm also going with a Z06 catback system.
Am I off by thinking I'll save 25 lbs from going from cast iron manifiolds to FLP headers, 5-10 lbs from the loss of the 2 extra cats, and 17 lbs from the stock to the Z06 system...?
I've also been told there is also 16-25 lbs locked in the Goodyear runcraps...
Weight is important and I will leave the Atkins to you.I would recommend the Borla Stinger EXH. System probably pick up 8-10 rrwhp 5.6 over a Bassani and 6 lbs.Tqe. RRwheel!!! and I believe the Stingers to be lighter and they sound like a V8 under the hood.As far as runflats dump em if you can afford to you will pick up HUGE increases in silence,Traction,unsprung weight handling improvement as well as a working side wall that increases cornering by 20%+ and when your driving a Goodyear or Pilot any great hi speed tire 160 mph will not have that wandering effect that R Flats give you
you can drive hi speeds and always have a confident feel of being stuck to the road.And the handling at 45 going around turns alone is worth it if you have the dough.
