Default C5 Driver Memory

The two memory options do not retain settings. Also, sometimes when using remote to unlock car, the seat position moves all the forward. Finally, the direction signals fail to work but will start again after depressing the Hazard button.

I didn't see a question in there anywhere, but I'll see if I can help with some info.
The important part of the memory settings is to correctly set them in the first place and understand how they work. There are three possibilities for memory: 1,2, and 3 (1 and 2 held down together). If you adjust all your settings and then hold down the number 1 button until in blinks, then the next time you press that button everything should go back to the same place. If you unlock with the fob, the settings will go to the place they were set corresponding to that fob. If the fob you open the door with was the first fob trained in the sequence, the settings will match the 1 button. If you use the second fob, they will go to wherever the 2 button was programmed. You can check out your memory operation by setting all three possibilites to the same settings and then use the fob and the buttons and they shouldn't change. If they don't maintain memory in that case you probably have a low car battery. Either read the manual or download one free from gmpartshouse.com if you don't have one. It will explain the memory and fob operation.
As far as the turn signals, it's a well known problem and is caused by the emerg flasher contacts. Sometimes you can just cycle it several times and the signals will work for a while. You have a choice to bypass the flasher, or replace it. There are multiple posts on both possibilities on the forum with how to pictures. The best way to find them is to go to Google and type in "turn signals don't work C5". If you include the word forum, it will take you back to this forum with the fix. There's one with pictures that's titled something like "18 minute fix for flasher", or similar.
Almost any problem you can think of has been addressed, just use the Google and search method I mentioned and you'll find answers you didn't even know you had questions for.

My 2000 has a retarded memory.
Sometimes when I get in it pushes all the way forward and into the steering wheel.
Other times it just forgets the settings.
Have learned to live with it.

The load presented by the starter to a low battery can cause stored info default if the battery voltage momentarily drops below a cutoff threshold.
Absolutely check battery first. You didn't mention the year of your car or if you have HUD, but another indication of a low battery (voltage drops below minimum during crank) is if you set your HUD to, for example fuel displayed on the right, and when you start the car it displays oil pressure instead, the battery is dropping too low to hold the memory. Especially noticeable if you let the car sit a couple of days and then when you start it the display has changed from where you set it. That's how I first found my 8 yr old Delco was getting weak.
