What is this cable connector for?

I found this coming out of the steering column, not connected to anything (circled in RED):

Anyone know what it is?

Column lock motor connector. 8vette7 and others here can be of big help about what to do about it. If you have an LMC5 connected, it doesn't matter what you do with it. One of those guys will have to help otherwise. Tell them what year car and transmission you have and you'll get great help.

65GGVert, thanks for the tip. I suspect that I do have a CLB installed there and so that unplugged cable now makes sense.
