Default axle removal ... need help ASAP

I'm in the process of removing the differential and transmission to put a new gear and converter in while everything is apart. This is my first time working on a C5 and it has went surprisingly smoothly. I've removed the two top control arm bolts on each side as well as the two top shock bolts and unsnapped the brake and emergency brake lines. Also, of course, removed the calipers, caliper brackets, rotors and tied the calipers up and out of the way. The two differential nuts through the cradle have been removed as well as the four cradle bolts through the frame. I have the rear of the torque tube supported with a jack and a jack under the cradle. As I lower the rear jack the cradle is coming down freely but the axles are still in the differential. I've read several posts where they "pop" out but the hard plastic or rubber boots are still up on the differential. What do I need to do here to finish getting these out and then lowering the cradle down? Any help would be appreciated as I'm off work today and would like to finish getting this apart to get the differential to my shop to have the gears changed.

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Use a long prybar and go in between the axle itself and the differential. Then pry inwards toward the center of the car. The axles will then pop loose from the differential. Once this happens the rear spindles will fall away from the car pulling the axles away also. Then just lower the cradle.

Yup, get a prybar and just pry the axles out of the diff. You can damage the boot or seperate the CV joint if you pull on the axles.

Ok. Got it. Thanks. Just needed a little "persuasion" to come out. Everything is removed including the differential and transmission. Actually went pretty well. However, the differential is not separating from the transmission. I removed the top two 13mm bolts and then the two 15mm nuts on the side. Are those the only 4? I tried putting a block of wood on each side and tapping with a hand sledge. I see a little separation but it's not coming. Ideas?

You probably missed the bottom nut underneath the diff
