Good day everyone. I have a question. I purchased a set of titanium C5 Z exhaust for my coupe and was looking at installing it at home.
I was told that I needed to get the vette about 30" off the ground and drop the sway bar to have enough clearance to slip in the titanium exhaust since it is all one piece on each side.
How can I get it that high off the ground? My floor jacks only go up to about 23".
It took me forever to get the car high enough and I know that I was damn lucky to have not died in the process. My 00 had an aftermarket bolt together system when I bought it so it was simple to take off. I traded it for the ti's. It wasnt until after I started the reinstall that I knew I was in trouble. I jacked the car up front and back at the normal locations with jackstands at the 4 corners with pucks. I ended up having to cut 2x10 pieces of board and screwing them together. I would jack the car up until I reached the end of travel. Insert another piece of 2x10 under each jackstand, lower the jack until I could get it out, another piece of 2x10 under the jack and so on and so forth until I could get the one piece Tis to swing over the axles. The car was so high up that standing I could look into the tail light before it was tall enough.

Basically did the same procedure used 2x10's under jack stands and 2x10 under jack as a ramp for the jack to move on until the the rear was high enough to swing the exhaust down and out, one warning, jack the front up to a reasonable height, keep checking as the rear is coming up or you will crush the front as the car pivots up.
i just did mine yesterday with the car 21.5" off the ground. it's a bit of a crazy maneuver but it can be done. you will need to remove the sway bar in order to take it off at this height. tips never touched the ground.

I agree
I believe you mean to swing the sway down wards out of the way, leaving it to swivel/rotate on the end links.?
I removed my stock Ti pipes myself in the garage, not sure how high I had it but I bought 2x12's cut into pieces and stacked on top of each other, the pipes are simple to take on and off if you can get the car high enough, I would pay $20 or $50 for a shop or someone with a lift to do it instead of all the pain of dealing with blocks of wood and the jacking up.
