LS2 vs LS3 throttle body?

LS2 vs LS3 throttle body?
I am going to put a FAST intake on my 2002 LS1 engined coupe. I can use an adapter plate and utilize my current ported 78mm throttle body or use an LS3 throttle body off my C6. I see that most people that upgrade to the FAST intakes use and LS2 throttle body. Not sure what the difference is between an LS2 vs LS3 throttle body. I have been told that they open differently--One opens from the bottom and the other from the top. Opinion? Thanks
