Outside temperature 92...thermometer says 75
Ever since I got it back from the service dept., the outside temperature thermometer has been off. Today it is at least 92 degrees and the car thermometer says 75.
Is this easily fixable, or is it back to the dealer?

The outside temp calibration is not that good. Mine has read high by 5 degrees. i had the dealer change the sensor it is still reads high. If your still in warranty, have the sensor changed. I gave up trying to get it calibrated. Some things are just too hard and not worth the effort.
ps: When it reads 117 degrees I know it's hot! Happiness is a good A/C in the C5 when the temp is in tripple digits.:)

In an especially unscientific manner, I noticed that the temp gauge often read about 5-6 degrees warmer than the radio was announcing for the area. I believe the sensor is close to the road, by the shroud, so I imagine that it would be warmer than the ambient temperature. So now I pretty much just open a window to see if it's warm enough to take the top off...if not, I don't pay much attention to it.

I"ve had temp guages in many cars - including all three cars I have now. I find them all to be quite accurate when driving and they have had time to see plenty of air moving over the sensor. I do agree that they usually read a little higher on a hot sunny day due to the road temp being higher than where local "official" readings are taken.
