Tranny Flush
OK, this is a two part question.. kind of. I have a 2000 auto C5 and turned over 30k last fall. I took it in for a brake, coolant and tranny fluid change. I brought it in and specifically asked for them to change the filter and fluid in the tranny and when I picked it up they told me they flushed it and no need to change the filter. I was a little annoyed as thats not what I asked them to do, but my question comes after talking to a friend about my truck. I have 75k on my truck and was going to change the filter and fluid myself, but I'm getting a ton of conflicting info from online and in person. I'm being told a flush is the way to go and leave the pan in tact. Also being told never ever flush a tranny as it does more harm than good! A flush can actually cause failure? Did this shop do my vette an injustice? Should I not flush my truck?
