It's pretty easy. Open the hood, turn your headlights on, then remove the cover that wraps around the headlight. I think it has 3 phillips head screws that hold it on. This should give you enough clearance to get to the fog light bulbs. I also removed the access panels on the bottom of the car. I think that was 4 or 5 bolts (10 or 12mm) can't remember. Now you have access from the top and bottom. Then you remove the factory bulbs, plug in the new HID and look for a good spot to mount the ballast. Sorry I don't have pics but it is an easy job. I was done in just over an hour.
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, it would be a lot of help to have the instructions. I am installing some ACA headlights and HID kit as well so I figured I would install these at the same time.
is there any wiring that has to be ran to the fuse box or battery, etc? Is it truly just plug and play? If anyone has the install instructions, that would be greatly appreciated.
i said for the ACA headlights. there should be two wiring harnesses that came with them. they serve two purposes: provide direct battery power (triggered by the activation of the factory headlight signals) to the higher wattage H9 bulbs (or HID ballasts in your case) creating a solid stable power source without risking overheating stock wiring, and they also create a permanent ground that keeps your low beams on when you activate the highs which helps preserve the life of the HID lamps as well as putting more light down the road
Correct, I do have a C5. I don't think they need to be adjusted on a C5?? the fogs are projectors.
By the way, how do you install relays? I am familiar with them but not familiar with the process of installing one. Where do I purchase them and can you point me to a specific one to purchase?
the C5 fogs can & should be adjusted. there's a screw on the front of the mounting bracket that sets the up/down tilt. so long as you ain't got Z06 screens, it should be easy to reach.
just aim them the same way you would with the headlights - park level and shine against a wall about 25ft away. fogs are usually good at about a level angle (line on the wall at about the same height as the fixture on the car).
