Well today I got my beautiful Blackwing in the mail along with the hood seal (both from Exit 28 at a GREAT price).
Anyhow, I could not believe how nasty my stock filter was!!! I just got my 99 last month (GM certified) and I'm pretty upset the dealer didn't replace it. The filter was so bad there were a couple of grass blades in the MAF screen! :U
In with the Blackwing and out with the old box and MAF screen. Night and day difference! (remember my filter was shot). I can not believe how fast my car is now!!! I can't wait for the FLP's ;). The install is easy and took no more than 15 minutes including carefully prying the MAF screen out (I have pictures of it compressed - wow).
On a side note - what side is the MAF connector supposed to be on? Passenger's or driver's? Mine is on the driver's side but it just didn't look correct. Thanks.
Congratulations on your blackwing and  to doing it yourself.Exit 28 is  As to your ? about the MAF connector I have an '02 and it is on the drivers side. :seeya
