Transmission problems 6 speed stuck in 4th

It has been a long road. Pulled the transmission, took apart, found broken piece within 3-4 shift fork. Reassembled, drove and quickly found a new problem like yours, it grinds only going from 5th to 4th. Took apart again and should have back together by tomorrow. Will let you know...

Yep, old thread. Just as valid today as it was then, as all this happened in the last 3 months.
I have a 2000 base model with 184,000 miles. I drove it at Sebring International and got stuck in 4th, but it would come out of 4th when it cooled down.
I drove my 2002 Z06 22,000 mile car at Sebring International and it locked in 4th hard. Shifter will not budge, solidly locked in 4th. Drove it 2 hours home. This car, in certain places on track, would have difficulty going into 4th and 6th prior to the trans getting stuck in 4th.
I have yet another 2002 Z06 that would have the same issues going into gear in the same spots on track at Sebring, but never locked into a gear.
Seems like this should be in the "things to plan to fix on a C5 eventually" just as a heads up. I do appreciate all the tech expertise located on this forum, so thanks for that!
