I need some help with a swap project I have been working toward for some time now. The planned swap is putting a 2006 GTO LS2 into my 1986 Z28 Camaro. For wiring I decided to go the Painless Performance harness route. The harness I purchased from them is based on using a 2002-2003 Z06 Corvette PCM (12200411) and flash. I chose this route because I wanted to stay with the DBW Throttle and ’02-‘03 Corvette cruise control which happens to use the cruise in the turn signal stalk the same as my Camaro. One thing that is not compatible though is the ‘Vette A/C control. I want to use the VR compressor and A/C system components from a late 4th gen F-body car along with the 3rd gen F-body controls currently in my car. Some adaptations will have to be made. To control the compressor clutch and radiator fans accordingly the Corvette PCM appears to be looking for a switch to ground as A/C Request.
From what I have been able to read and understand with my very limited electrical knowledge I am guessing it is what I believe it is a PWM ground. I probably need to identify what the profile of this ground is. I can get help from the e-techs I work with to build an emulator to duplicate what the PCM needs. Anybody knowing the A/C System and PCM interface in a 2002-2003 Vette could I get a little help if I beg a lot?
