I replaced my wiper motor a couple of years ago and have driven it less than 10K since. The car stays covered 90% of the time. Today I drove it and the wipers come on by themselves and stopped about halfway up. The switch does nothing. I immediately went home and parked it. I checked the udders and one had a small amount of water. The other was dry. Is there any way to save the motor and circuit board or is it ruined?
When you say "the switch does nothing", do you mean that the wipers are now totally dead? or do you mean the swich does nothing to correct the "park" position of the wipers?
If the wipers are DOA than your problem is either in the switch or,more likely, the wiper motor or its electrical connections.
If the "nothing" refers to the "park" position then you need to reset it.The "park" position of the wipers is controled by a moveable adjustment "arm" located on the bottom of the wiper motor.
That much said, the question is what changed your "park" position ?
Have you run into something lately? Have you recently done anything that might have "shocked" or vibrated the wiper motor ?Has any gunk built up in the area surranding the wiper motor?
I had a similar "park" position problem recently but that resulted from my introducing my left front fender to the right rear portion of a deer's a$$.

a$$.
The switch is totally dead. The wipers move by themselves and the switch doesn't stop or adjust the speed. I just drove it for a few miles and the wipers move when I go around a curve or accelerate.
