I had my local Chevy dealer try to reprogram my PCM to change from 2.73's to 3.15's yesterday. They were more than willing to do it and didn't think there would be a problem. When they tried to do the programing they were unable to because the car wanted some sort of code (VIC number as it later turns out). They called GM technical assistence and they said you need a VIC number but we won't give it to you because the car is over 2 years old. I guess I will have to go the Hypertech route.
I actually installed 3.42's in my car but have talked to a couple of people who used the 3.15 programming for the 3.42's and it works pretty good. So, I wanted to do that until I figured out which 3rd party programmer I wanted to go with. Looks like that plan is down the tubes.
