Well I have finally reached the point to upgrade my heads. I already have the ls6 intake manifold on the way and have also ordered the Katech timing chain and asp underdrive pullies. I am having trouble deciding on the heads to go with and I am leaning towards Katech stage II heads or A & A Stage I heads. They are both reasonably priced and have been known to make good power. I just can't see myself spending 3K for stage II heads from MTI, TR or other tuners out there. I wish they were more reasonable on the price since it is gonna cost 1K+ for installation of everything! Oh well, what do you guys/gals think??? You think I'm on the right track??
check out http://www.totalengineairflow.com ,their heads are CNC machined and are very reasonable as far as cost, plus quality is top notch. They are also a forum sponsor.
Give me a ring. We are not the cheapest, but surely not the most expensive and our heads perform with the best of them!!!
Let me know if you need any technical information on the heads. We can work you a package that will suit what you are looking for, not some generic, off the shelf head. :yesnod: :yesnod:
I just installed my Katech stage II heads on my 97, The car made 385 RWHP. I talked to Chris at Katech, and he said they have some new cams out that are making over 400RWHP. I got mine about a year ago, but was saving up for the rest of the parts, so I just now installed everything. Give them a call, I am very happy. My car drives like stock until I floor it. It also has a nice rumble that gets lots of attention.

Thanks,
  In his sig he already has a cam, unless if your package only includes cylinder heads
Hmmm, not sure I understand what the problem is here
Feel free to give me a call if you like and I would be happy to work out a package for you.... We typically sell heads, cam (optimized for heads as well as desired results), programming, pushrods, gaskets, bolts, etc.
We would highly recommend going with Katech heads. We have sold/ installed many brands of tuners heads and have come to the conclusion, Katech stuff is top notch. Their head/cam pkg may not produce the very most power as to compared to some of the other pkgs available, but the pkg will be reliable and very driveable. 385-405 rwhp is the average dyno on the LS1 with all the goodies installed. We recently had a customer do 410-420 rwhp on his LS1 with Katechs LS6 heads installed. Lets put it this way, if GM trusts them for motor work, they must be doing something right!!! At this point in time, we only sell/install and recommend Katechs products and we are very happy with the results. Let us know if we can help in any way...

They put a set of these heads with a fairly mild 114LSA cam on a 2000 hardtop and imade 390rwhp with stock tuning.
Email me if you are interested in any more information.

I would like some more info on those street eliminator heads. When they mad 390rwhp, was that auto or stick? What mods did they have? Cam specs, driveability. That seem like an aweful lot of hp for such mild heads, and stock programming. Thanks for any info you can give me.
I've got Katech Stage II LS6 heads & cam on my '01 coupe, and made 419rwhp with some tuning left to be done (430rwhp is very realistic at this point), with a very flat torque curve. The Katech workmanship and package is great, and in addition the car is as drivable as stock. I've been stuck in traffic on 90+ degree, 90% humidity days without trouble. Plus it's got a nice bit of lope to the idle so that you know something is there. :)

I HAVE these 'Street Eliminator" heads and they are a great buy for the money. For $1650 you get a choice of a matched cam as well and you can't beat the experience of Nick and Wade Agostino:D
