I was shifting into 3rd gear and it did not want to go. I managed to get it into 3rd and everything appeared OK. When I went to park I had trouble getting it into reverse. I dont have any grinding and it does not pop out of reverse after getting it in.Is it possible I bent a shift rod or fork or something.I dont drive it hard it is a 2000 vert with 12000 mile.It has always went into reverse easy. Its my baby, help.(it shifts into all other gears OK.) :cry :cry
You haven't got an aftermarket shifter fitted have you ? I fitted my Hurst last weekend and forgot to put the blue Loctite on the throw adjustment screws. They vibrated out of place and one of them obstructed the odd-numbered gears and of course reverse. For some reason 3rd was the first one I had trouble engaging, then 1st, 5th and reverse.
Mine does that too from time to time. I just ease it into 6th then back into reverse. Seems to work for me. Same thing going into first. I'll slip it into 2nd then into first and it goes. I guess things get a little out of line once in a while and I don't think it is a clutch issue. Happens mostly when the car is cold. Once it warms up it seems to shift fine. I don't race or drive that hard.
