Gas Guage / Shutdown
2000 Coupe 31,500 miles still covered under GMAC
When I started my 00 today and went down the road I noticed my gas gauge read empty (HUD and Dash). I know I had fuel in the tank but turned around anyway --- went home and added a gallon.
OK here is where it gets strange:
Now both read 1/4 tank and the fun begins.
I head down the road to my first intersection -- stop -- go to take off and the car shutsdown when the clutch is released. (Shutdown not Stall)
Restart it and drive 3 miles to town -- pull into gas station -- shut it off (there are 2 cars ahead of me).
When they are gone I restart it --- go to move ahead and when the clutch is released it shutsdown again. This happens two more times untill I get to the gas pump.
I shut it off -- fill up with super -- start it up -- go to take off -- shutdown on clutch release. :mad :mad :mad
Now the good part --- restart the car and the display sends a message ---
SHUTDOWN ENGINE -- WAIT TEN SECONDS -- AND RESTART ( I might mention this is what I did while filling up):confused:
Drove around 30 miles after that and everything seems fine.
Any Ideas????
