Ok, I have a major problem. Today, when I started up the vette, the seat slid all the way to the most forward position. I tried to slide it back and the seat is not budging.
I've had the same problem with the passenger seat too. I looked at the fuse's for both seats and they are still good.
However, when I went to pull out the circuit breaker for the driver's seat, it was hot as hell. I'm am not an electrician, but, could the circuit breaker be blown which is the reason for my seats not working?
This is a serious problem as I was late for work and had to drive my car with my knees smashed up against the dash. This is my only mode of transportation right now so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
1st guess is the seat switch is stuck, try jiggling the switch see it you can feel it switch go to another position, or unplug the seat switch harness under the outside seat rail, then see if the power drain is still apparent.
Guys, it's definitely not a stuck switch. My circuit breaker was smoking hot when I pulled it out (drivers seat circuit breaker). Is that normal?
My seat has automatically moved to the most forward position and the seat switch no longer moves it either forward or back. Both seats now have this problem; what could be the problem?
The 20 Amp circuit breakers located in the passenger footwell, maybe?
Might try unplugging the passanger seat harness and see if it still does the same thing, and reverse.Sounds like something is shorting out somewhere.
Yes, I've done this multiple times with plugging and unplugging the seat harness. I haven't had any luck whatsoever. Something is definitely shorting out. I do not think my switches are bad, I think there's a short that's happening somewhere. Do circuit breakers go bad? Mine was very hot to the touch when I pulled it out.

If the switch contacts are stuck, yes it is normal. The CB is nothing more than a resettable fuse and wired in series with the switch. It opens when it gets too hot (from excessive current draw) and re-closes once it cools off. If the condition that caused it to open in the first place still exists (stuck switch contacts) it once again gets hot and opens, stopping current flow. A stuck relay can cause the same thing.
