Difference between a 97-99 smog pump and 00-04 ?

Difference between a 97-99 smog pump and 00-04 ?
Is there a difference between the 97-99 air smog pump and the 00-04 smog pumps? I ordered a pump said to fit 97-04 but it seems like they changed the connectors from a 3 wire (97-99) to a 2 wire connector (00-04) can anyone enlighten me on if there is a difference would be really appreciate it
