I was thinking of installing a set of Stingers on my car,but I am concerned with the noise level. Is there any one on the Forum with Stingers that can let me know if they are really loud and is there any apprecible drone in the car? :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Rod - They're not all that loud under normal driving and I tend to be conservative. No drone at cruising speeds. If you want to hear mine, I'm in Huntington Beach.
I have a set and am well pleased with them. The only time it is really loud is under hard acceleration. Personally I thihnk it makes a vette sound like it should. :D

I have a set and love them. the noise sounds great to me. the only time I notice the noise is when my wife is in the car. because she is sure to bring it to my attention :yesnod:  ;) But under WOT there is no better sounding system. IMHO
I have them and love them, they could be louder even. I started my car in the parking lot and these two guys looked right at me. I drove by them and they were just going crazy about how good it sounded. Buy them, you will love them.
I saw the dyno results in Corvette Fever for an ad featuring the horsepower increases attained using a Lingenfelter twin turbo. Does anyone have any idean what the horspower increase is using this mod on a relativley stock C5?
GET 'EM!!!! I put them on my vert this weekend. The only time that they are really noticable is at idle and WOT. Even with the top down, could have a normal conversation at 45 mph.
Went to the link for the sound page and the Stingers seem to sound like a motor boat. On the page was the PRT's and they seem to sound better. I am choosing between the two and buying one system this week.
I read the article in Corvette Fever. Why in the world do you run a test on a Lingenfelter twin turbo C5 and not a stock C5. How many Lingenfelters do you have cruising your neighborhood. Corvette Fever is a good magazine but once again they miss the boat on their feature stories. :nonod:

I had that same dilemma, but I got a chance to hear a ton of Corsas, PRTs and Bassanis at the Cruise-In. Part of the motorboat sound is the result of the H/X pipe setup.
The Stingers sound like a deeper, bass-ier, louder version of the PRTs. Unfortunately, the best way to be sure is to hear them in person.
Don't think of getting any other system. The Stingers ARE the best sounding exhaust available on the market. No one in the three weeks I've had them has had anything negative to say, sound wise. I love them and they really make a difference. I couldn't imagine how I dealt with the stock pipes for so long. Good luck in your decision.

I Dyno'd 341rwhp W/Stingers and a blackwing. On 2 different Dyno's . A Dynomax and a Mustang. I dyno'd 311 stock. I ran 12.8@113 with this set up but my 60' was a 2.2. Damn run flats :)
I agree with Aquaman. I believe there is certainly something to be gained by using a low restriction exhaust. I currently am using the Corsa's, however, after hearing about the Stinger, I am considering switching. The price isn't bad either.
