I am going to get a brake kit for my '98 - calipers, rotors, lines. I've looked at three kits so far - Baer, Wilwood and Stoptech. Haven't gone to look for Brembo yet.
Advantage to Wilwood and Stoptech - they sell blue-painted calipers which would be cosmetically appropriate for my Nassau Blue coupe.
The Stoptech calipers certainly look stronger and beefier.
What have you all done with your brake upgrades recently? Any negatives to the Stoptech kits?
I had a front Stoptech 13" 4 piston kit on my M3 after I was cracking rotors on the track. Not only did the Stoptech's hold up to a beating, they lasted over 2x as long as the factory components on the street as well. The Kit even paid of itself with expensive BMW rotors and pads between track and street. I changed out the pads for wear once during that time and the pads were reasonably priced if I remember correctly.
As for looks, the calipers stayed bright and never faded or had any pealing in the 3 years and 30k miles I had them.
Stoptech is a quality company and product for sure.
