Default Need Titanium welding rod info?

Hey guys I got a piece of titanium to do the by-pass mod on my exhaust.
I need to get some Ti filler rod now.
I want to try to get it locally. What should I should I ask for when I go there?
Thanks

In order to do this properly you also need to flood the inside of the tube an muffler with the inert gas you are using. If you just do the weld zone on the outside you can have embrittlement on the inside and not know it.

Search Ebay. That's where I found my Ti welding rod. Also, +1 on the oxygen-free environment. Glove bags work well, just don't kink the gas purging hose like I did... haha

Is there any special thickness or anything I need?
Any idea how many feet or pounds you needed to weld yours up?

Thanks

I bought some z06 ti exhaust that a guy had cut the pipes so he could remove them. I welded them back together with some sheet titanium a guy had at work. I cut one into small slivers about 1/16x1/16. I didnt do any of the things miller said to do. I just tigged it as if it were 1018 crs.
The mufflers have been on my car for 20k miles and I beat her hard.
Your project doesn't even need to be structurally sound. Mine had to be and it still worked.

I think I am going to buy this.
Any reason why I shouldnt?
Will 10 18" sections be enough?
