Default ~ Oil Pressure @ 80 PSI ? ~
Hey guys,

I've noticed since yesterday....my oil pressure gauge is showing 80psi. It is going ALL THE WAY to Right side, and stays there. I shut the car off, restarted hours later....same thing...

What's going on...

Thanks in advance...

Car: 1999 Coupe, with 65K (strictly freeway) miles.

sounds like your oil pressure sender is going out, very common issue

Go to Google, type in "C5 oil pressure high", or "C5 oil pressure 80lbs". You'll see multiple ways to replace your sender.

Meanwhile, is it safe to drive the car. My digital (DIC) gage shows 129psi..

It's a very common problem, more than likely it's just a faulty reading but without a gauge it's hard to know for sure.
