Default Projector Pop Up Headlight aim adjustment??

Good day. I recently installed a set of projector pop up headlights similar to the ACAs. I was trying to better aim them today using the Oem adjustment bars. I attempted to first adjust the horizontal aim. I turned and turned the adjustment bar and it did nothing. Are these bars only used for Oem or am I doing something wrong?

The original adjusting rods are used for the adjusting of the new lights. They are delicate and break easily.

Do you turn clockwise for up or down/left or right?

I'm not sure.
I normally just shine my lights on the wall and see what direction the light goes when I turn it.

I was using a socket to turn these. What do you normally use? If a socket, what size?

I hate to sound so vague on this stuff....
I just search thru my sockets till I find one that works.

Be careful though. I have heard that the long "UP/DOWN" Brass rod breaks easily. I put some grease in my gear assy to help so it hopefully does not break when I turn it. If you feel a lot of "tension" when trying to turn it I would try to lubricate the gears before it breaks.

If turning it does not make it go up or down, then I would remove the entire light assy and investigate the gears to make sure its not damaged.

I have a procedure on my web site that demonstrates how to remove the entire light assy.
Look under section ---> ACA HID Headlights with Morimito FXR Bi-Xenon Projectors:

Here is the light output pattern. Can someone tell me how off they are?

Looks like your passenger side is high. Move the car back more (20 ft or so), and try to align them.

I took a look at a DYI on the forum of aligning the lights and it states that the height of the beam should the same height as the height from the floor to the projector

It also states that the beam should be about 4" from the center marking on the wall of the car.

Does that sound right?

I'm not sure what is recommended for aiming. I just made sure mine had a slight "down angle" to them (so as not to point up at oncoming traffic).

I also went to a warehouse district and put my lights up to a building and tried to ensure that both lights were pointed straight forward. I think I was 20-30 ft away from the building..

the rod is a T15, same as the headlight cover bolts. I know because I just tried to adjust mine but have frozen height adjustment rods too. Will have to try and take the assembly out tomorrow or next weekend to investigate.

I hit them with WD40 yesterday and then took it apart to soak with PB blaster today. Didn't end up needing to, the WD40 got them loose.
