My car has 8200 mi on it and I just put on G-Force KD's. Before the KD's the car at times went both ways. After the KD's it started only pulling right - the faster I go, the stronger the pull. Now I know the obvious causes - ALLIGNMENT and RADIAL PULL. But I will be upset if i get an allignent and find out it didn't take care of the problem. Any suggestions or other possible causes? TIA
maybe due to the parking lot pylon you ran over while doing brodies at the mall!!! HeeHEe!!
Actually, not too funny. One of the guys in my local vette club (who is way too rambunxious behind the wheel of his ZO6) high-centered his Z on a parking lot pylon, where we hold our club meetings, goofing off just like this. The car vastly exceeds his driving skills, though. I am waiting to read about him in the obituaries.
anyway, it sounds like alignment all the way. Especially if you just put on new rubber. If a brake was grabbing all the time like this, you'd smell it for sure. one way to test for 'grabbing' brakes is to drive it a good distance where you dont have to apply the brakes too much (long country road). take a squirt bottle with you. after you put 5 miles or so on the car, stop (gently), get out, and squirt a stream of water on each caliper. If one is partially engaged at all, the water will boil off due to heat built up on your drive. the other caliper shouldnt even be hot to the touch. if water doesnt boil off, then touch each one. if one is a lot hotter than the other, a possible problem. It's quicker to check this than it was for me to type it!! after these results (and you've checked the other obvious items such as tire pressures), go get an alignment.
Besides the ones that you stated. Sticky brake caliper, or low pessure in one side.
Thanks - the pressure is 32 all around. Don't know about the caliper
but FWIW, the pulling occurs without brakes engaged.
It's probably an alignment issue but you could have a sticking brake caliper (not releasing all the way. Jack up the car and spin the wheels by hand. If one drags or doesn't spin - the caliper may be stuck or is dragging/
