Right headlight stuck

I recently put a new gear in the right headlight of a friend's car. Now it will not come up after it sits overnight. The only way to get it to come up is to turn the manual **** and then it will come up until it sits overnight. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem Mine would act up occasionally. Check the battery terminals, it's worth a shot. Mine were loose and after tightening no more problem.

I turned the gear a little bit and haven't had any problem since. Leads me to believe that there may be a section of the gear that isn't well lubricated.
