Default "X" pipes.. are they all created equal????

Lots of choices but which is the best for the price??? Looks like the short weld in on both ends is the cheapest......Bassani looks to be one of the most expensive... what do YOU have???

Bassani and it took out the pops and other burbles when I installed it in place of the stock x-pipe.

No.. :nono: They are not. In many cases there are "street" and "off-road" x-pipes. Thre are in fact several street versions on the market manufactured by some of the more recognizable exhaust manufacturers ie: Corsa,Bassani etc.but....I chose to have my x-pipe fabricated for off road use on the street/track by a exhaust master welder. There IS a difference when you tune an exhaust system as a complete system rather than just adding components to the exhaust. When placed in the right position and fitted to the exhaust headers there is a significant gain of horsepower and torque. If you are looking to get the most efficiency out of the exhaust system then I believe that the toatal exhaust system should be carefully planned and components stragically placed. Pipe diameter and lenth of the x-pipe WILL have an effect on tone at cruising and WOT speeds. All manufacturers that market to the general public try to please as many people as they can and therefore the actual result may be different from one vehicle to another....IMO:D

I achieved what I think is a very efficient and aggressive exhaust system from engine to tailpipe accounting for a significant h.p/tq gain over the restrictive and totally inefficient stock exhaust ...probably near 25-30 h.p.

My install pics of the exhaust is documented on my homepage.... :chevy

I installed the Corsa X-pipe for several reasons.

1. No welding required
2. When I talked to jim Browning (owner of Corsa) he said that they had the same aerospace engineer that designed their patented Noise Cancellation system design/specify the optimum X-pipe cross flow connection area (based on the LS1 Engine)
3. My Cat Back exhaust is the Corsa Pro tip Indy's -- stayed with the same manufacturer and could count on their excellent fit & finish.
4. The X-pipe is relatively inexpensive from LAPD.
