Default Dewitt's Radiator W/ EOC Help

I'm looking into a Dewitt's radiator model with the EOC. I've searched many threads and installation doesn't look like will be a HUGE pain since the motor will be out of the car.

Did you guys have to purchase the Dewitt's EOC Hose Kit or is that optional? Does the radiator itself come with the lines and everything you will need to install the radiator with the functioning EOC?

I tried calling Dewitt's directly. The phone number on their site doesn't seem to be working.

The oil cooler lines and adapter are above and beyond the price of the radiator alone. There are two options for oil cooler lines, the 894C and the 898, which is the modified C6 versio. I went with the 898 because it has a built-in bypass valve. It is the most difficult setup to install but it's a no-brainer if you're installing it with the motor out of the car.

The A97AE radiator has both engine oil cooling and tranny fluid cooling capability. I only used the engine oil cooler on the left side.

The first 894C oil cooling setup I had before exchanging for the C6 version.

The 898, the modified C6 oil cooling unit.

From DeWitt's web site, benefits of the bypass valve setup:

The temperature-sending unit for all C5 Corvettes utilizes a small bolt-on aluminum block, which mounts to the engine block directly above the oil filter. This block provides access to the engine oil path, as oil flows in and out of this small manifold.
Most aftermarket adapter blocks use this point to tap oil for cooling but do not contain an internal bypass valve. Since this adapter is in series to the oil circuit, all the oil produced by the oil pump is forced through the hoses and the oil cooler. At high engine rpm’s, this could be a significant volume of oil and this could produce excessive pressure drop and heat generation through the system. When using an oil cooler that is mounted inside a radiator, it is highly advised to use an adapter that utilizes a bypass valve shown in the above diagram. This will provide a constant flow of oil at both low and high rpm. The result will be a maximum pressure drop of 7 psi and reduced heat generation.

I installed my DeWitts with 898 oil cooler setup with the motor in the car and posted a thread where I swore to never do it again. It was a royal pain getting everything to fit but, as always, worth it once we forget the PITA it took to get it in.

Best of luck in your install.

The Ron Davis Radiator works well too and might have a better availability. Doug Rippe has a complete kit with all the hoses and adaptor block.

I've run this one in my C-5 Z06 for 7-8 years.

Seems like the 898 kit is the better way to go after reading that.

Sure thing. I might ride to the shop that is installing my procharger tomorrow and get some pics.
