Default Blower - Truck Heads?

Looking for input.

Has anyone who is running a supercharger swapped up to the truck castings for heads?

I forget the designation, but these are basically LS6 heads with larger combustion chambers for lower compression ratio.

I'm looking at all the options for a build next year on my car. H/C is a route I have gone before. SC is a new option for me.

What I'm curious about is driver's commentary on having this blower / heads combo and either factory or mild cam.

As an oddity, I cam curious what highway (65 @ cruise control) MPG the cars would manage with factory cam and truck heads. The blower would be free-wheeling at cruise speeds, so this would basically be just the engine under normal drive.

317 are the castings. R u wanting to run super boost? If not there's not need for those heads. You could run them yes but you'll loose some low end. You can safely boost your stock engine with stock cr
I'm talking like 10psi max

No. I don't have the mind to run super boost on it. I'm just the type who likes things to run efficiently, and usually when I build a car I way overbuild for what I'm doing.

My mind just doesn't feel confident in putting boost on the stock longblock for what will end up being close to 580 crank hp with an A&A kit if "about 150 rwhp typical gain" is to be true.

But guys running blowers just tag them on stock LS1s with no issues (presuming a safe tune) ?

Likewise, this is my DD for about 9 or 10 months out of the year. It's going to get miles. I very much dig the centrifugal style blower for this application because it does not come right on off idle.

i ran 11psi at seal level (which dropped to just under 10 in the mountains here now) on a stock LS1 with headers & intake. factory 852 castings. and that's with a TVS2300 which is hitting a bit harder than the centri setup you're talking about doing, and i ain't had no issues. you're aiming for 580 - mine's at 630 with over 640tq (flywheel).

considering a low-boost centri basically makes stock power til above 3000rpm, you'll appreciate the extra compression from your stock engine while you're DDing it so that it don't feel sluggish while driving like a normal person

You're helping return my faith in the internals.

How many miles does that combo have so far?

Centris like a lil compression unless you spin them super hard. I run 10 lbs on a vortech on completely stock. No headers even. Just make sure you get a good tune

And remember. That's 10 psi at like 6500 rpms. At 4500 it's like 6. At idle it doesn't boost at all. Depending on how you pulley it it may not even see boost until you get on it

just over 10,000
and that's with a good bit of track-style driving (road course & drag) as well as a few easy-cruising road trips
