help with a code
i made a high speed pass earlier today, (nitrous assisted) and the TCS light and "Service car soon" message came up. I turned off the car a few minutes later and it didn't come back on when i started it back, but i got a funny, bad smell. i checked the diagnostic codes and got a 'C 1288 H' code. Anybody have any ideas???? help PLEASE :confused: :confused: :confused:

Thanks for the link. Any ideas as to whyit came up? Do I need to visit the dealer (please say no......don't trust em)

Hey Now:
I had the 1288 code also a few months ago. C-5tech here on the forum helped me out. There is a TSB out about this,#01-05-25-004A, it involves a recalibrating of the ABS to correct the condition. This did work in my case, but he also said if the recalibration does not correct the problem, then the steering sensor in the column will need to be replaced. Hope this helps you out. :yesnod: :flag
