It won't be long and I will also be putting in 3.42's and a TC. How does the sy3500 feel with such a big gap between str. and stall. Any traction problems? I assume it pulls really strong. Thanks for your answers on previous posts.

I have the same setup and agree with Buckmaster. The power is there when you want it and the car can be driven every day without any problems...

It does seem that with 3.42's and 3500 the 1.61 str would really be plenty to get off the line and with consistancy. Then I get confused when someone posts that they are switching to a 2.5 or higher str. Once off the line wouldn't a 1.61 pull harder? Seems it should. I am leaning towards a 3200/1.86. I'll probably change my mind a few more times. Of course I'm talking a daily driver. I'm really excited right now. I have a 2003 C5 on order. It should be coming in mid August. After break in the mods begin. Crazy? Just an addict.

I did add the TransGo shiftkit and that has really kept the "looseness" factor under control. The car has very very quick, firm shifts with virtually NO drop in rpm between shifts :D

Traction? If I jump on it the tires will spin like crazy :D You get used to it and learn how much pedal to give it to NOT spin. It's not a problem or an issue. My everyday driveability is absolutely perfect and great. Car runs strong. The car is a beast :D
I have a very similiar setup......what Buckmaster said :yesnod:

Thanks for the input. ya'll have helped alot. I'm tending toward the 3200/1.86. It is in the same range as yours and I'm looking for the results you describe with "clarity".

And remember... The key thing about Torque Converter's is, the more you do research, the more you will be confused. I decided on the SY3500 after talking to 2 different tuners and Mike at Yank, and I think I made the correct choice.

Doug
I like your car but love the scene behind it. Showing off? Which TQ did you say I would like? All of the 3500 guys really are enthused about the results.

Thanks.
I was tlaking about the 3500 and 3.42 combo. My car is a daily driver and I love this combo. Thge 3.15s and 3000 or 3200 would be great also but the 2.42s and SY 3500 is the ultimate setup in my opinion. :smash:

How come noone's got 3.73's?? Wouldn't this be an even better gear all around? Would the 3500 t/c work well with these gears too?

Thx!

I am getting that combo. My mind is made up. I still have to figure out what to do about reprogramming my Powerloader????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????

I decided to maybe also get a CAM only (springs, pushrods, etc.)while I am at it to get the programming out of the way at once.

I might just pass up Steve Cole and get LS1 or ed Wright Tuning, but I hate to throw $500 out the window. i have th gears, know which TC to get, but am deciding on if I will get a CAM or not?

We will see??
