Before on here I had read about how the fans operate, but can't find the thread.

With my 1999 Corvette running and up to temp, with A/C on, both fans are running.

It's very hard to see the driver's side fan, so I shut off the car and ran back with the flashlight and saw it slow down to stop.

So, from what I see happening, both fans run, and every so often, the passenger side fan ramps up to a higher speed, then ramps down to the slower speed, maybe ever 15-30 seconds, I did not count.

Does this sound right?

Very good information!

Now, when I was looking earlier, on the digital readout on the dash ( I had it set for coolant temp) it was running at 198 while doing this.

I guess I need to get underneath the car to see what the driver's side fan is doing, the ABS module seems to be in the way.

On the passenger side, I could hear it ramp up, and also could feel more air with my hand as it ramped up and down.

It appears the driver side fan may be going slower, but since I can get my hand near it to feel of the air, it may be normal.

So, idling at 198, with A/C on, both fans should be running in slow speed?

The passenger side fan ramping up is not proper design operation?

Both fans have high and low speed capabilities.

On the diagram, would the left fan be driver's side, and right fan passenger side?

I have noticed for years, like if I'm at a fast food drive through waiting in line with A/C on, I can tell the A/C blower speed will reduce for a instant than go back up.

It also feels like the idle of the engine changes for a moment.

I have the car parked right now, so I may be wrong

When the blower speed reduces ( this is the blower on full speed, with the digital HVAC control) I'm wondering if extra electricity is being hogged by the passenger fan ramping up.

I'm fairly certain the car is 100% stock, have had it over 10 years now, got it in the Bay Area of California, I used to live there.

Would one need HP Tuners to see if the temperature settings have been changed?

I feel there is some weird problem the car is having, but it does not overheat at all.
