I had to remove the knee bolster panel under the steering wheel yesterday, and when I did the metal retaining clip that holds in the trunk release latch popped off and is now MIA. Sorry, I don't have an actual picture of the clip, but it's a small metal retainer clip that slides onto a plastic tongue of the switch assembly which holds it in the knee bolster. A new trunk latch switch is almost $200 according to the local dealerships!
That part probably uses the same clip that's used for many interior panels. I'd see if a dealer could locate the clip separate on one of the rear side panels. I'll take a look in the garage but I don't think I have my original switch anymore to yank the clip off for ya. Another option would be a local swap meet at a car show. Lots of used stuff there and reasonable prices including interior clips, screws etc.

I think Z06uf is right. That same retaining clip is likely used on a number of other interior panels and may also be used on other GM vehicles, not just Corvettes.
The green metal clip in the pic is what you need right?
I think the traction control panel also uses that same clip, probably others as well like the knee bolster panels, etc.
Salvage yard or even the body shop at a GM (not just Chev) dealer would have extras.
excellent suggestions guys, thanks! I've got the situation under control for the moment with a wad of masking tape carefully shaped to do the job, but obviously that's not permanent. I will try taking off the panel this weekend to search for the MIA clip again, otherwise I'll hunt down some sort of replacement with your suggestions.

My original switch is gone. Sorry I couldn't help you.
