Default Passport 8500??

Was looking for any input from owners of the Passport 8500. As far as performance and personal opinions go. I have seen the tests of radartest.com, but am just curious about personal experiences with it. Thanks! :seeya

Hard to trust any of the test they have, but from personal use in a state where KA is becoming the choice of the man.....the 8500 is what i prefer above all the rest....Don't have to worry too much about x band here, just K and KA band. Escort, Bel, or Valentine will not save nobody all the time, but have had alot of the other detectors and the 8500 is what seems to work best for me....

I like my Passport 8500, and am glad I went with it, after comparing to others.
The performance has been fantastic, as well as the long range it seems to have.
Good Luck

No regrets here! It is a good radar detector.

No complaints here with my 8500. Has saved me many a time. I think the Valentine works as well, but costs a bit more for the arrows. Personally, I don't really care WHERE the radar is coming from, I just want to be WARNED as soon as possible, which the 8500 does. Either detector should work just fine.

I have both V1 and 8500. YOu cant go wrong on either of them. Performance-wise, it's hard to choose between the two.....i just like the arrows of the V1 that's why it's hardwired to my C5 and I use the 8500 on my daily driver. The 8500 is slightly better on Ka band (this is based on my experience with the two of them, not any commercial radar test) and the V1 has the tendency to go off when i follow Envoys and Trailblazers - but hey, you never know if its laser, but then again chancer are you're already tagged! I like how the 8500 looks -- by looks alone i would buy it but it is so conspicuous. THe V1 is ugly but if you go for stealth, it's the one to get.
It's all about the arrows though.....im so used to it, when i hear a beep i gotta look at the detector. Both of them had saved my butt numerous times so im not complaining.
