Please be honest, if you have PRT's do you get any interior resonance while cruising between 1500-2000 RPM's. I am looking to quiet my car down but not too quiet. I have an off road x pipe too, and a S/C going in. I know the S/C's like less restrictive exhaust. Just wondering out of all who have PRT's if you get any resonance.
Thanks
I don't have resonance as I understand it. I can hear the PRT's and they have what I consider a drone when on cruise and going up a gradual incline. They are louder than stock and can be heard while cruising down the highway. Resonance as defined by irritating noise and vibration, I haven't experienced. The louder sound is something which should be expected from the system.
Re: PRT Resonance....please chime in.............. (Bruce A De Boe)
With the modified car you have, and aggressive system like the PRT's, the overall sound may be too loud to begin with. With your mods, you will feel like you are sitting on the mufflers as it is.:)
Hey Kevin are you intrested in the pace car exaust or what? Let me know man, I want to sell this thing already. If you are still undicided which is evident by this post that's cool just say the word.
I had PRT's on my coupe along with TPIS LT headers. I got slight resonance from 1000-1500 rpms. It wasn't very bad to me though and I still loved the PRT's.
Yes, slight.
Not enough to warrant an exhaust change.
I love my PRTs and would not change them for anything. (I love the musclecar sound and the look and finish of the system as well)
there is a little drone at that rpm range. my car is A4, i love the sound of this system. i am going to put a x pipe on soon that will take the motor boat idel away . very  you will like
I also have some resonance around 1500 RPM in 6th, particularly going up a slight incline. But I do love the sound of them and wouldn't go with anything else.
I appreciate all of your responses, and your input has helped me make my decision. I believe that the PRT's are a great exhaust. However, I am running TPIS LT's, Off Road X pipe (no cats) on a H&C car and am installing an S/C. If I still had the cats on I would run the PRT's. But I really want to quiet the car down, but not run the stock system. My car really resonates with the twin straight thru Magnaflows I am running (similar to stingers) it was much quieter with the cats.
Thanks again for your honest responses..you all have great exhaust sytems.
I'm running the PRT's with stock '99 Vette. Stockton is a long drive from beautiful downtown Belmont, but you are more than welcome to take a drive in my car and decide for yourself. I do agree with all the other replies in that you will get some resonance between 1500 and 1700 rpms. However, I love the sound of this exhaust, and any resonance that I get at these low rpms isn't a problem with me. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to come on down.
