Default cooling issues

so i know there a lot of threads discussing max temp and i can determine im well outside them.

sitution:

water temps have hid 250-265 range with air temps at 100 ish and autocrossing hard then pull off and idel and the water temp spikes, let it cool down then run and its fine come off the track idel and it spikes up again. the car is supercharged with long tubes basic stuff making a little over 500 wheel stock cooling system.

no smoke, no coolant in oil, no low coolant excpt a tiny bit of boil over.

ideas?

it was all clean

wound up being a massive air bubble from changing the temp sensor that must have just worked its way into the right place. but bled it a few times till no more air and its all good

An air bubble is a real danger.

although the air bubble was ultimately ruled AFTER i had removed the supercharger and replaced the thermo to no change then realized that these things hold air in the top end like a hot air balloon. oh well while i had it off i changes the sc oil and replaced the belt for good measure.

whenever anyone is having a cooling issue do yourself a favor and make sure you pull the hose off the radiator (very small rubber hose on the passenger side top. (the drivers side of the two) and let the air out there.) because i drove mine for a month after the sensor replacement before the air became an issue then all the sudden, so word to the wise.
