So I finally got to drive my car tonight (just had harmonic balancer replaced). I'm new to vettes and so far I absolutely love it!
when I'm getting on the throttle, it goes great. When it shifts into 2nd, there is absolutely no lag. it's like it snaps into gear and thrusts the car forward instantly. sometimes slightly breaking the back tires loose and wants to go sideways a bit.
is that normal ? any car I've owned in the past had a slight delay when it shifted.
Hard to say just from hearing your description, but sounds like a stock vette to me. My bone stock auto would occasionally "catch" second with piston slap and lifters ticking away before I replaced my engine.
(Especially if you have traction control off)
Also possible the car has had a shift kit installed. But if you aren't used to modern day V8 muscle cars - it's probably stock and you're just getting introduced to good ole' American engineering.

That sounds like real fun to me, did you have to pay extra for that?
LOL no extra.
if I remember correctly though, I think when it shifted to second and it shifted sideways slightly , I think the "traction control active" or something came up on the display.
if it does this stock, I can't wait to see what it does with a few bolt on mods
