Default 92mm FAST intake fitment issues?

Has anyone that installed a FAST 92mm had any fitment issues with the cowl? I can get mine to sit flush to the heads and under the cowl, but the map sensor is hitting the cowl and it pushes it out of the port on the intake. I even trimmed off the 2 plastic brackets on the map sensor were it would snap into the stock intake, and it still hits. Im sick of taking this intake on and off. Any help would be appreciated.

i haven't heard of the 92 having issues. I have read the 102 does NOT fit under the C5 cowl.

I did use the map relocate on my fast 92....I also had to tap my coolant lines down to sit flush.

So you used the above kit in the link? Where does it put the sensor? Were you having the same issue as me?

I did the relocate for ease of changing. Mine wouldn't sit flush because of the coolant lines underneath the intake. Some change theirs out to ls6 style. I tapped them down with a rubber mallet. I did this a few years back so I can't recall the exact reason...but I remember it was good to keep the coolant lines..I think Bill Curlee had a post on this at one time IIRC? I'll see if I saved it.

That would be great if you have the link. Where does the map sensor go with that kit? It looks like maybe where the egr is?

Goes in the front. You have to drill a hole. Be careful or you will be buying a new intake. Did you change the valley bolts?

Yes changed the valley bolts. Its so close to fitting, just hits enough to push the sensor out of the hole a bit. Its still in but not fully seated in the hole. Also the sensor is constantly hitting the cowl like that. Under acceleration it may not be a good thing. Ive had the intake on and off more times than I want to count.

Figures, yeah I didnt think there was any issues with putting one on. Just my luck. That relocation deal dont look bad at all, plus if it goes bad its easy to change. Thanks Ohyoufan I think Im going to order it today.

there was a post that installed a small 90 deg. vacuum fitting in the hole by tapping it. I thing it was 1/4" pipe tape. Then install a short piece of hose to the passenger side of the manifold. cut the rubber o-ring off the sensor and install it into the hose.
No need to extend the wires and you can access the sensor should it need to be replaced.
Worked for me.

I put mine on myself and I have not had any issues.
Its strange that you are though.
The only clearance issue I had was the little plastic nub right at the cowl.
I just cut it down a little and put it back in place.

I installed mine on my 99 FRC it was very snug on the cowl and I looked into that relocation kit with no luck. Nobody seems to carry it any more.. I have not had any issues but when doing some research on the topic it sounds like the fix as Mr. Jones described is the way to go. Here are a couple of pics I found on the hose extension method. I think tapping a 90 degree elbow would be the best.
