Default service vehicle soon?

installed vortex last weekend and now i get the service vehicle soon display every other day
any ideas? is it related to the vortex install?

You will have to pull the codes from the D.I.C. and then determine what they are. You will find a list of codes in the Tech section of this forum. Hope that helps !

what does this mean
The " TCS" is the traction control system. The C1281h is as follows :
Steering sensor uncorrelated malfunction. What I would do is clear that code out of the D.I.C. then see if it comes back. If it does come back, you will need to replace the sensor that has gone bad. That sensor is about $200.00 plus the installation. Give or take a few dollars.

it only comes on when i break the tires loose but i usually turn the traction control off anyway

I think it will disble the "speed sensetive" steering. I've had on this problem on this car, fixed under warranty


will it hurt anything if i just ignore it :)
it only comes on when i break the tires loose but i usually turn the traction control off anyway

You want your car to be " Right " don't you ? Personally, I would get it fixed. If you don't, it could lead to other things going wrong and cost you more in the long run. Plus, your service soon message will come on forever.
Maybe C5-Tech can chime in here and answer your questions better than anyone can.

I don't think it can be related to your Vortek install.

It's not an emergency situation either. I have been getting this one on and off for years. Dealer screwed around until it was out of warranty.
