I just arrived at work after a 25 minute trip and all was fine . As I was parking the car started to idle rough and the check engine light came on. I pulled codes and the only current code was PCM P0300. Detected engine misfire. Any insight as to what I should start checking? I cleared the code and restarted and it seems fine now, but I don't want to get stuck on my way home.
Thanks guys & gals
A place to start.....pull into a dark garage (night) lift hood and start engine. Look for a light show (spark gap from plugs or plug wires and anywhere else). Start with the easy things first. Get back to us.
Get a cheap Actron and keep it with you, if it pops up again, plug it in BEFORE you shut the engine off and see which cylinder is misfiring, most likely a loose wire.
Thanks guys. I was just coming in to update. It was in deed a loose plug wire. Kinda corroded as well. I'm going to replace all of the wired when I get home. Any suggestions on where to buy or brand to buy? Also should I go ahead and replace the plugs as well? The car has about 79,000 miles and I'm not the original owner.

GM HP red wires are often recommended and plugs may depend on engine mods. Readers can make suggestions if you post any mods.
